1D, 2D, 3D, … What’s next? – Dynamics for SpaceClaim

On that note. Creating new competitive engineering products, requires an intelligent process. The essence of intelligence is the ability to keep as many viable options as possible open for as long as possible to ensure maximum agility when circumstances change. However, in engineering you can only keep your options open for so long. At some point, typically very soon, you need to move forward in the product development process and generate some income.

Now, does this make the product development process inherently… not very smart?

Well, the answer is yes. Unless you are somehow able to know the circumstances much better early on in the design process, while all of the viable options still are open.

This brings us to the entire purpose of Dynamics for SpaceClaim. .agxJournal file and .scdoc file should be placed in the same directory. .agxJournal file contains the recorded simulation, enabling an instant playback even of a large simulation.

Hydraulic lift

This is an engineering application that illustrates how one can obtain the dynamic loads on static connections (welded and bolted joints, for instance) between structural members (frame and vertical beam). This scene also captures a situation where the lift tips over due to an accellerating motion accross a sloping floor and a subsequent collision.
